Gotta See It: Ovechkin goes chopping, finds Letang’s ankle

As if Alexander Ovechkin isn’t having an interesting enough week, on Tuesday, he decided to explore his abilities as a lumberjack and two-hands his stick against Kris Letang’s ankle. Somehow, he got away with it.

  1. Ref didnt call a penalty on that ? Beacuse the faceoff OV was going to get it. They allowed. Any team to make the next move or swing would be in the box. No questions.

It was a slash no doubt but that should have been called!? Instead refs had other ideas on rival game. You could tell they didnt want fighting to start.

  2. Must hurt, if slash hits right foot and when he is getting off the ice, left foot is on air. So Letang forgot where stick hit 🙂 typical 🐧

  3. Alotta favouritism going on with the refs lately, I watch hockey to escape bs politics 😢

  4. игровой момент: хотел пробить по шайбе, но ее прикрыли – такое случается, в редакции походу не знают как работает мозг самого мощного снайпера в нхл, у этого парня и короткий взмах клюшки имеет приличную силу

  5. This is where the nhl has to come in and check with the control center and have a consulting with the on ice officials like they do when a goal is missed and they stop the game. He could have ruined a guys career. As they always say they want to get it right.

  6. Is this how he lives out his fantasy of killing Ukrainians for his hero Vlad “the baby and child killer” Putin?

  7. It penalty. I think in situations like this judging must follow to Rules. Sport is not kind of day-to-day life where people may collide with the Court, and lawyers begin to interpret the law and how to use it in current situation in legal case. In Hockey exist Rules which players must to follow, and if they break rules – they must be penalised. Ovi’s stick chop Letang skate – it obvious and evident, if so where be a penalty. All simple, the break – the punishment. Refs need to follow Rules, no need to interpret situation. The aim of hockey Rules – to regulate the game, when refs began to interpret Rules they break it.

  8. As I have said many time. The NHL officiating is not very good. It's hard to GUESS what penalty is anymore. That was a penalty and what did you expect Pittsburgh do?
