[Russo] Three years, $12 million ($4M AAV) for Ryan Hartman. Fair price for the 34-goal scorer of two years ago who took a paycut on his last deal

Gets a no move added to the last year of this contract and the first year of the new one. Plus a limited no trade in year two and three

Could’ve been worse, but $8M between Hartsy and Moose as we’re coming out of cap hell kinda stings.

This just makes the Foligno signing even more of a head scratcher. This is better than fair market value for someone like Hartman. But the same money and more term for Foligno? Like… what??

Good deals for Hartman and Zucc. The Foligno one is still a head scratcher though

Really happy with this one. I think he’s pretty firmly the most valuable of the 3 recent extensions. Given his age this also is the least likely one to age poorly.

Happy for Hartman. He’s a great addition to the team, which I feel this sub/Wild fans have had some weird takes about recently

Hell yeah. Fantastic to get less than what Bunting got

I think the resignings are all fine. Zucc will probably retire off of that last year and not block any prospects, and Moose and Hartman can always play bottom 6 towards the end of their contracts. We won’t be big game hunting in FA though, which I honestly think is fine. Building from the inside is how champions are made

I’m glad Zuccy, Moose, and Hartman are locked in. Distractions of a pending contract year are out of the way. Potential cap increase soon is going to have an effect on player salaries I’m sure.

We probably overpaid a tad for moose, but hartsy took a team friendly deal on his last one and deserves this bump. LFGW!

I agree with most that the Foligno deal was an overpay. However, I think it gets lost that the cap is projected to go up to around 87 million next year.

Personally love this deal. I think he could have gotten a good deal more if he had played the year out and hit free agency.

Totally fine. Stopgap option until someone yanks that 1C from him, while it keeps all three deals staggered through different years. Also fairly versatile, while good enough to do pretty much anything.

This is a terrible signing what is wrong with you all

I like this. Hartzy can play all 12 forward spots, plays on both special teams, and brings that “fuck you” to the ice that’s a guy you want around as prospects come up

Not mad at this, pretty reasonable contract for what he gives us. Good luck to him this season!

Love this deal. He deserves a big raise from his last contract, and could have gotten even more going to the open market.

4 million x 3 years is excellent for a guy who could sniff 20-30 goals and 50 points if healthy all season, and plays a feisty, grinding, 2 way game at either center or wing. Plus, he remains after this season if we continue to need a stop-gap player to occupy top 6 center role, which he can reasonably fill as long as he has an elite play driver (Kap) and play maker (Zucc) on his line.

And if all goes well with our player development, he could get bumped to Ek’s wing during these last 2 years of the contract along with Foligno, where he’s already shown to be capable of still being a 40+ point player in middle 6 role, too.

When you factor in that Hartman has been a bargain, I guess it evens out. Zucc’s contract scares me as well as he was a turnover machine late last season and his production dropped quite a bit. The only preseason game I watched him he made those dumb errant passes again. I really hope he cleans that up and he and KK can get their mojo back. As everyone else said and I strongly agree, the Foligno signing is just so perplexing on so many levels.
