It’s the only time a player would attempt to hit Lindros…when he wasn’t looking. They all knew if they tried when his head is up, they’d get blasted. Cowards only hit when someone isn’t looking. “Clean” hit or not, that’s the only time they would do it…when he wasn’t looking!! Pussies!!
The commentator was wrong, if you slow down the footage enough you can see that Kasparitus laid his shoulder right in the middle of Lindros chest almost at his collarbone.
Always remember Lindros hitting one of the Leafs so hard the Leaf’s visor cut his own face. Lindros’ dad bragged in the papers the next day that no one hit as hard as his Eric and how Eric drove up and through his checks like a linebacker. Bigger they are . . .
The one flaw in Lindros game is he always skated with his head down this left him vulnerable to him getting a lot of concussions that hit that Kasperitis did on Lindros would of been illegal in todays era and he probably would of been suspended for at least 10 games
