I like the AAV just wish it was a 2-3 year deal but if he works out then the term is great so idk think its a ok deal

The term is a bit longer than i'd have expected butbi really like this move. Entering his prime years and he's been getting better every season. If he can be consistent he can carry this team to the playoffs

I don’t understand why 5 years is too much. It’s 4 million the cap will rise significantly in the 4th and 5th year and his actual dollars being paid is lowest, 3 million at the end.

Im just glad that we didnt have to trade Debrincat to get a goalie. I know he will probably be getting traded anyways. But id rather Debrincat get traded for a player that can take his role in the top 6.
People don’t get that in free agency, you’re bidding against other teams. You have to top what other teams are offering if you really want to land a guy. That’s why guys always get a bit more money and/or term than is ideal. This isn’t at all a bad contract for Ottawa. Could be worse. Anaheim just threw $6.25 million per season at Killorn…. For SIX years. And he’ll be 39 when that contract ends.
