“You are not allowed to speak to Mr. Sakic” – Red Wings player Brett Hull to teammate Sean Avery.

    I have that Beliveau card. 2008-09 O-Pee-Chee.

Some top notch answers. Id say Yzerman and Iginla are the top i can agree with and others that would definitely make the cut.

Ill throw Scott Niedermayer on the board too. Guy was a class act and such a great player.

The great one On the ice dominated had new rules made in the league. Off the the ice helped the league expand to other cities and loves all things hockey anything to push the games popularity and reach.

Why is everyone not saying Gretzky. His number is basically universally retired in the sport.

Listen, there’s only one guy to get a standing ovation in Philly, who didn’t play for the flyers. Mario lemieux is that man. He saved the franchise, twice. Beat cancer. Has an amazing foundation and is still involved in the community, even after selling the team. Le magnifique all day

Mario, Stevie, Sakic, Lidstrom, Henrik Lundquist, I’d even throw in Henrik Zetterberg

I’ll just say it: Sidney Crosby

At least ever since he won his first cup; the youngest captain to ever do so

  9. Stan Makita. Fantastic player, great scorer, excellent human. (also made a mean donut if WW is to be believed)

Ken Dryden became a best selling author, a member of parliament and a cabinet minister after his hockey career was over, but the real answer is Jean Beliveau.
