Holy crap, I can't believe they are actually giving away Lavoie for NOTHING. This organization is a complete joke and has made the most horrible decisions over and over again since drafting McDavid.

Eh if he gets claimed he gets claimed. Didnāt see much from him in the preseason anyways he doesnāt use his big body at all for some reason either.
So to clarify, Nemo is injured, but does not qualify for LTIR, this forcing him to stay on the NHL roster until healthy as per the CBA. Therefore there was not enough cap to spare for Lavoie, or Pederson. Secondary, if Nemo is healthy by Wednesday, and Lavoie clears, there's a good chance Lavoie will be in the lineup
They can't be that stupid to just give Rafa away. There has to be something cooking in the background. The guy's a right hand sniper and big, which is what the team needs. I refuse to believe Woodcroft's pet project, otherwise known as Holloway, wins again out of favoritism. Oiler fans will be royally pissed at Holland and Woodcroft if Rafa gets scooped up.
This is why id have traded either Foegle or Kulak. One injury in preseason was all it took to force these moves. Whats the point in having a competition in training camp if theres no cap space for ANYONE. Is having Foegle worth running short? Losing prospects? I dont think so
As Mick once sang, āYou canāt always get what you want.ā Cap hits, and the role each player fits on the team, makes it difficult to keep players that show potential if they arenāt ready to fit the teams needs at present. Other teams will be struggling with this as well. There will be some bargain players available to all teams, especially teams with key weaknesses. Nothing is over till its over.
I get it now.. If a player is big and physical and can shoot skate and score, like Kostin, you get that guy off your team, because winners are tiny and timid in Oilers Universe. Not enough cap room eh. I wonder if Nurse and his 9.5 mill Contract is a factor there.
No choice had to waive him due to cap issues and if no oneās is interested in making a trade with the Oil then again no choice but to waive him, but I believe Montreal will claim him

Iāve enjoyed watching all three of these guys and Erne. I hope Erne gets a contract, he has been a good 3rd/4th line grinder and good on the PK.
