As much as this fan base drives me nuts oops, I mean team, I’m still thankful as fuck. It’s a good time to be a leaf fan, we have a lot to be thankful for. Have a good one everyone.
Being a fan of a team that has so much pressure to bring a cup home for the first time since 67 is not a fun one. Social media has made it a lot harder. When sundin had Hagman as a winger I knew there was no hope but it didn’t bother me as much because it wasn’t everywhere like it is now. We are lucky as fuck, it just sucks so much of success has to do with winning the cup. One of my favourite moments was Hyman Matthews and brown connection for that ot goal in the Detroit outdoor game. That was so long ago and there’s been so many great moments. I strongly dislike the narrative that because they haven’t won a cup the team has been a failure. Sometimes I let the voices get to me but deep down I love hockey and I know you can’t blame a player or two when one bad bounce can ruin your whole season.
