NHL 24 has arrived! Hit the ice on October 3rd with the NHL 24 X-Factor Edition.

To celebrate NHL 24 launching worldwide, Cover Athlete Cale Makar takes on TSN’s Bardown crew in rounds of hockey skill challenges. From NHL 24 features like: Exhaust Engine, Physics-Based Contact, Human Goalie Control, Total Control Skill Moves, & Vision Passing System, the guys showcase how these features translate to the ice.

All-new gameplay features in NHL 24 bring authentic on-ice action to life like never before. Experience the rush and fatigue of a high-pressure game with the Exhaust Engine, where sustained pressure in the attack zone leads to new game-changing effects like goalie fatigue that slows the netminder’s reaction time the more they get worn down with offensive action; change the momentum with Physics-Based Contact as you break the glass and send players into the bench with big body checks; and get unparalleled player command with the new Vision Passing System and Total Control Skill Moves.

Chel is more connected than ever with cross-play in all online team play modes, along with HUT Moments, which lets you recreate classic moments in hockey history and today’s biggest plays. Adding an extra layer of authenticity, Flex Moments introduces 75+ new goal celebrations, and a wholly refreshed presentation complements an enriched crowd atmosphere that makes playing the game feel like you’re at the game.

  1. lol! Makar is NOT a 95 overall player. He's an 89 at best. EA loves getting their controversy in over these bogus ratings.

  2. Dude Cale I just one of those teammates that you want most he just loves hockey and just wants to have fun and play

  3. Luca getting to live his dream, getting dangled out by his favorite player from the favorite team lmao

  4. I got the early access but when I try playing it, it still says I need to wait until it’s released

  5. when r u guys going to put back the clasic controls i dont like the new controls i am so frustrted with this game i was so excited to play it but now i am so mad and dissapointed

  6. They gave Cale 95OVR?

He's on the cover so I can understand.

I must state that I think hes a 92 ovr. I also wouldn't make Mcdavid 97 ovr because then you're getting very unrealistic about his defensive attributes. If you take what mcdavids offensive-defensive attributes would even out at, he would balance out at a respectable 94 overall. A high 94 overall. It is a realistic average for the sum of mcdavids attributes, and 94 overall also lets people go in "Create a player mode" and have the ability to actually make a better player. You cant really have fun with create a player mode if mcdavid is already 97 overall.

Make Mcdavid 94 overall and make the rest of the league follow beneath that point. Crosby can be 91–92ovr for ex, Matthews a low 93, Mackinnon a high 93 or low 94…It all makes sense. And since Makar is the cover athelete and he's a defense with offensive capabilities, then Make him 92 OVR, thats fair.

Overalls for a majority of the players are set abit to high this year imo. I think I'll be having to custom edit the overalls myself once I buy the game.

  7. Dear EA Sports,

I am writing to express my strong view that consumers should not purchase NHL 24, the upcoming ice hockey video game release. There are compelling reasons why investing monetary resources in this title would not be a wise decision.

Firstly, the on-ice gameplay mechanics have remained virtually unchanged for several years now. New features and graphical enhancements and being added superficially rather than innovating the core simulation experience. Players deserve innovation to justify annually purchasing updated versions. Secondly, many crucial team rosters and player attributes will quickly become outdated, as the real NHL season surpasses what is included in the game. This renders crucial aspects of certain game modes obsolete within months of the title's release.

Lastly, from a business perspective continued annual sales of essentially the same product risks negatively impacting the brand loyalty of fans. Players want to feel they are getting a new gaming experience each time, not just a roster update. If real innovation and improvements to simulation gameplay are not a priority, consumers may lose trust in the quality and value of future NHL releases.

In summary, for all of these complex and interrelated reasons, consumers would be best served saving their funds rather than investing in NHL 24. Innovation must be the priority to justify the franchise's annual release model moving forward. This will benefit both players and maintain a strong future for the NHL video game brand.
