I really like this. Lafferty has size and grit which is something we don't have a lot of. Joshua-Blueger-Lafferty can be a really good 4th line, they can provide grit, size, defense, energy which is what a 4th line should be.

Don't know much about Lafferty, but I trust Allvin to do the things needed to improve the team and give them a real shot at making the playoffs. And I don’t think giving up a 5th round pick was anything too egregious.
Happy Thanksgiving @CanuckClay and Family!! Coach Rob Wille did the 8K Run this morning and this afternoon we are going to White Spot for Turkey Dinner. Lafferty I think looks good but I do have trouble giving up 5th round draft picks so early in the season.
Allvin/Rutherford collecting their old PIT draft picks like they are catching Pokemon. First reaction is, "Why?", but I am intrigued.

If it helps move the needle on the PK, I am all for it. They certainly are giving themselves options to try for the PK this season. Hopefully they find something that clicks.

Patrick Allvin’s mission is to become the 1st GM to enter a draft without any draft picks.
Net gain on foward, Lafferty's a bona fide 4th liner with lots of PK success.
The PK should be greatly improved this year, but the loss of Soucy could hurt. Hopefully he's not out too long. The PK was a major problem last year and I expect that it should move up to top half of the league. He's also another right shot Centre. Also remember…. Mark Messier was the captain before Henrik Sedin. (Inside joke)
I think the Canucks 4th line gonna be better.

A fifth round pick for a legit NHL player with great PK creds, who doesn't make that trade?
I'm actually shocked how people are freaking over trading a 5th round pick for a player for the bottom 6 physical forward, that's good on the PK.
