It's possible.. I think it's time they make a big move and actually acquire a top 4 d man. Salary cap will force there to be a different team next year. Give it all we got this year.. with in reason obviously but a slight overpay to get something done I think is okay at this point. Another Foligno trade isn't bringing us the cup.. solid video dude
The leafs also said they are only looking for players with term and im pretty sure Manson is a pending UFA
all that i will say how would a Muzzin / Manson pairing be in the playoffs for us, i have been wanting the leafs to get him since he was drafted, his dad played in TO
If you go by points percentage (which is how the standings SHOULD be sorted) the ducks are actually 5th in the Pacific division. If they start to struggle they could easily end up being sellers at the deadline
No to giving up a first round pick for Manson.
Maybe sign him in the off season.
Manson would be a good addition. Think we need a more physical presence up front which backs up the other teams defense. Ritchie hasn't worked out but, a Krieder type forward would be ideal.
Dylan Strome and Connor Murphy for Keerfoot, Ritchie, Dermott and either Robertson or Amirov or a first round pick.

The Pacific div is the weakest division….if ANA were in the East they would be already selling to try to get better for next year ❄️

You make good points. Leafs need to add on their blue line. All other contenders would like to do the same. If you want a top 4 right handed, tough gritty defenceman, with salary retention it’s going to cost you a first round pick, rodion amirov and something else. Is it worth it? Idk time will tell.
I think Anahiem could make this trade as they have a few expiring contracts to address and they have decide how they want to spend their cap space. Also, Los Angeles is right behind Anahiem in the standings and they could slide down. I think things will be more clear closer to the deadline as to whether they are buyers or sellers. Alternative options for the Leafs might be Mayfield if we can get him or Collin Miller if he comes back from injury in early March.
I agree, I can't see Manson going anywhere this season given Anaheim's place in the standings. Teams need that playoff income from sold out arenas, so from a business sense it makes no sense to clear out valuable players when the team has a decent chance at making the playoffs.
Anaheim will be dumb to sell honestly. Their lineup is capable of a playoff run in that division. Especially if Troy Terry carries his scoring into the playoffs and Zegras pops off and Gibson shuts the door. They need Manson more than we do
Most of us already know that Ducks will not trade Manson if they are in the hunt for a playoff spot. Some people feel the Ducks will eventually fall down the standings, and perhaps out of a playoff spot, but I'm not so sure about the last part of that. No doubt Dubas is scouring all NHL rosters for possibilities to get an NHL level D-4 as a Plan B to Manson. The other part is he has a modified no trade clause. Cdn teams might be on the no go list (higher income taxes in Canada)
They don't wanna lose Manson for nothing. He's unrestricted next year and will be looking to get paid!
I doubt any of the rumours you are hearing will pan out. That's not because of how reliable the sources may or may not be but because with Dubas it rarely ever does. Most of the trades he's made we heard nothing on those players.
Nice break down. They're definitely interested in Manson. Dubas is getting calls about Mrazek as well. I think anybody is movable right now unless your name is Matthews, Reilly, Campbell Tavares.
A few points worth making,
1) Manson is a 4/5 on a contender, not a top 2/3. On the Leafs I think he is a #4 providing Muzzin can regain his form.
2) Anaheim have played more games than most of the league. Based on point percentage they are a bubble playoff team. So they could go either way. Realistically, they have a very slim chance to go deep, so getting assets for a pending UFA to help move them forward isn’t a bad idea, particularly if it’s a prospect they might be nhl ready in a year or two.
3) Mason’s 4 mil cap hit will be less than 2 mil by the trade deadline since most of the season will be over. So if they get 50% retained by another team the actual cap hit will be about 1 mil or less.
I would be ok with the Leafs getting Manson, but not for anything near what you suggest. Richie has played in Anaheim before. I wonder if they can get the Ducks to take him back if they sweeten the deal? Might take significant sweetening lol.

one thing you're forgetting, look at the Western Conference, every team above and below ANA has games in hand (in most cases a lot of games 4 or more) right now can't rule them in or out..if it happens that they are IN closer to TD then I agree if NOT then welcome to Toronto
10%? are You serious? have you looked at the games in hand teams have on the Ducks?, LA has 2, SJ has 3,, Dallas has 6, Edmonton has 7 and Calgary has 8, that 2nd spot in the pacific is fake there are to many teams with WAY to many games in hand, they are going to get passed by multiple teams and they will be sellers.
LA will be the first because they are only 2 points back.
I get Anaheim is in a playoff ish spot . But they are not looking at a deep playoff run and to loose Manson for nothing seems a bit backwards when they can add more young prospects and picks.
I think Muzzin is done. Some defenders just hit a wall. Too many miles, and he was never the fastest. I think he's got one more half-decent playoff run.
They gotta just get him already, have heard rumours linking the Leafs to this guy for too long
