The more we learn about Slafkovsky’s personality, the more I understand why management picked him. Yeah, maybe Cooley or Wright will end up better players and having more points, but Slafkovsky was the better choice when you factor in MTL’s market and the players we already had.

I get him. Most of the Slovaks are overthinkers, and a self-doubt is a common practice here. That’s a big difference between us Europeans and you there, in your attitude. It’s up to him to leave it behind. But he’s a good kid and with every game played it will be better.

I’m not sure that Slafkovsky will ever be a true superstar, and I’m doubtful that he will be the best overall player from his draft. But I like him a lot. I believe in him, and think that he’s a good fit for the team. I hope that management gives him every opportunity to develop and succeed.
At some point, the results do need to come, but for now, the focus should be on progressing and developing his skills.

I really like Slaf’s mentality and personality. wouldn’t be surprised at all if he ever gets the chance to wear an A or even possibly a C one day
