The Leafs acquire Mark Giordano with 50% retained salary and Colin Blackwell from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a 2nd Round Pick in 2022 and 2023 and a 3rd Round Pick in 2024!!! What are your thoughts on the deal for our Buds???

They gave up two 2nd rounders and 3rd rounder to get an over the hill left D man who is basically a rental only has 6 goals and 17 assists this season. I dunno this seems like an L to me. I hope I’m wrong.

And when the Leafs lose in the 1st Round again, Giordano will feel just like home. Chariot is 100x better than Giordano.

Regardless of rental player and his age…this improves the Leafs D corps is all that matters. Hes definitely better than our bottom 4 D. DUmBASs adding Lyubushkin and Giordano is finally on the right track…..1 more tough D please….Schenn or Middleton.
Technically they traded 2 picks for 2 player because Dermot was sitting in the Press Box and we got a third back for him? Just saying he was an asset that wasn't being utilized..
I would have preferred a Dman with term coming the other way, but this is still a good deal. Blackwell is a decent depth piece as well.
This is a very good trade for the Leafs. It bolsters your defense and helps your real issue which is your goaltending. We all know that this all comes down to how they perform in the playoffs. Nothing else really matters.

This deal is a steal to me with one massive asterisk, the Leafs have to get past the first round. If they don't, it's last season's trade with the Blue Jackets all over again
Great assessment of the trades, and the Leafs! But if Campbell can get back to his earlier form, I think the Leafs can beat anyone in the playoffs. What a dumb trade. Another year the Leafs squandering the future for a senior citizen (38 years old) NHL defenceman and a dwarf centre. Ben chiarot would of been way better. But leafs fell asleep at the wheel and got sloppy seconds.
The best D man has to be the netminder. They should focus on that. Great for Gio go home to retire hope he works out. But the Leafs need a netminder else they are not going past the Bolts, Florida, canes, Penguins, or Bruins.

Not sure if the D core was better then Seattle, they were in the most 1 goal games in the nhl , from what I've heard the goaltending was the biggest problem allowing weak goals and no offense
