Way, way later that intended but finally here’s my video recapping the Calgary Flames 2022 NHL Entry Draft. This happened to be the draft where the Calgary Flames wasn’t as busy on draft day as many picks we’re traded away as the Calgary Flames we’re buyers and going all in heading into the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Would say things didn’t really pay off as the Calgary Flames didn’t get past the second round against the Edmonton Oilers after knocking out the Dallas Stars in the first round. Calgary Flames that season did finish first in the Pacific Division as well so the picks we’re later in the round as the team finished with the sixth best record overall in the National Hockey League.
Worth noting that is was also the last draft that was lead by general Brad Treliving as at the end of the 2022-23 NHL Regular Season he left the Calgary Flames and ultimately became the next general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
