Jones as the 3rd string goalie isn’t a bad option.

Wow! That’s great. Happy to see Jones stay with the organization. He looked the best out of the goalies that played in the preseason. He’ll be a solid option for if/when Sammy or Woll are hurt.
In hindsight, It’s funny how Jones got so much unneeded attention for being a possible claim. I’m glad he’ll just be able to play hockey now

I’m.not sure why leafs fans became so quickly infatuated with an AHL calibre goalie, wish Tampa took him I don’t want any goalie regardless of if it’s our 3rd or 4th stringer to be Martin Jones.
Edit- Jones since 2018-19 has been awful, he’s not a reclamation project. He’s just a bad goalie through and through. .895SV% and 3.09GAA.
He’s consistently worst than AHL call ups, it’s proven that you’re better off starting a guy with no NHL experience over Jones.

I’m really surprised. Especially after the pre-season he had. It must be because where in past years it was seemingly only the Leafs jammed against the cap, now almost every team is. Even the teams that are not competing. That extra 100K might have been just enough to scare teams off that otherwise would have made the claim in previous years.
This is excellent for the Leafs though. You’ve at least got an experienced NHL goalie as your third string. Yes, I understand his numbers are not spectacular…. that’s why he’s 3rd string. Teams aren’t expecting .910 sv% from their 3rd string.
Jones was maybe the best goalie thru preseason.
Good. Glad to keep jones around as a number 3. Nice thing about Toronto is at least if you go to the marlies you can still stay in the city.
