I love Yamamoto’s work ethic but he’s just not cutting it for his cap hit. If we were only paying him to be a 1.5 mil 3rd or 4th liner then perfect. But they pay him 3.1 mil and wanted him to be a 2nd liner and he just isn’t good enough to be.
Its quite unreal how he went from nearly ppg to less than .5ppg. He was so fast with quick hands, must be a confidence thing mixed with injuries
Nuge needs to be traded while his stock is high. The team will always rely on Connor and Leon for scoring until they get some defense to take away opponents goals. The all offense isnt working.

I think him moving on is better for both parties.
He's small and slender and has played recklessly. His brain has taken many blows in a short amount of time. Unless you've gone through concussions you have no idea how they screw with you. I hope he secured his bag and retires

Oilers need goaltending and defense. Doesn't matter how good McNuggets and Leon are. You can see they can get shut down in the playoffs by a good strong team, then the Oilers have nothing. Depth is how you win the Cup…case in point, Lightning, Avs, VGK etc.

i wouldn't mind him in anaheim. We have a lot of cap and could use a speedy grinder. Im not really sure what I would be willing to give up though. I think it would have to be more of a contract dump type trade as opposed to a 1 for 1

I laughed when we drafted him. I will never understand why, when we were already such a small team with weak defense, that we drafted him. He's just too small, he will get hurt, and if we can get something for him… I would trade him in a heartbeat. It's a boy playing against men.

Yamamoto got injured in preseason and should have been sitting to start the season, but the cap situation was so tight that they'd have had to play a man short if he did, so he played despite the reported whiplash injury. I think it was 3 points in 13 to start when he should have been out, then 22 in 45 after that. Being at .5 ppg isn't terrible, but for who he was playing with and what he makes he needs to be better. He gets judged by performance based on his contract same as Nurse does.
