I like that they’re creating a culture that allows kids to push vets out. He earned a spot to date and has shown a more versatility than some of our veterans.

Great development in camp for the Leafs. Allows Willy to play wing too. For once the third line looks like an actual threat.
Fucking LOVE the Knies-Minten chemistry. This feels like a line that *is* something rather than just a collection of three forwards.
A 19 year old just convinced the Leafs to trade a veteran depth player(Lafferty) away so he could make the roster.

Minten making the team is dope af, I am curious if he stays all year or they eventually send him back down and let him play in the WJC.
Any scenario where there is space to keep Cowan around for an extra week or two as well? Maybe sneak him into a game or two for like 5 minutes of ice time?
I think this is a good move. I don’t know about you guys, but watching those two ( Knies & Minten) grind away full of energy Had me excited, it inspired me and made the game really fun. I ALSO felt like that the vets of the team had a little something something rub off on them from those two. Perfect energy line. If culture/ motivation was an issue I think these guys help.
With the lack of centre depth there was no way they could’ve let Minten go back to juniors.
I suspect they would’ve never given Kampf that contract had they known Minten was going to tear it up in preseason.
