The Canucks announced their opening day roster, complete with 22 players (13 forwards, 7 defencemen, and 2 goalies).
Ilya Mikheyev will start on IR and Tucker Poolman will start on LTIR.
In my haste to record, I admittedly should have paid more attention to the fact that the Canucks will be able to capture MORE of Tucker Poolman’s $2.5M cap hit on IR because Vasily Podkolzin makes $42,000 more than Nils Aman. Every dollar counts!

Don’t understand the bonus related incentives to bring Podkolzin up. Wouldn’t bringing him up more likely lead to him hitting bonus numbers and thus cost the team more?

Thanks for the update Clay. Any chance we see Rathbone this season? Will he have to clear wavers if he was to come up and then go back down? Not sure why they are so hesitant to play him in the bigs?
