Leafs fans acknowledge they’re over the top Canucks fans have embraced the fail Bruins fans enjoy being the “bad guys” Sens fans refuse to believe that anyone can make a good move aside from them.
Personally, I think the Sanderson contract is just about right considering how big of a risk it is, and also that the Dahlin contract is a massive W for Buffalo. It’s not a steal, it’s not an overpay. It is what it should be, which is good because he’s an amazing player.

Look, I’m not saying Auston Matthews isn’t a good player – he’s great. But is he really 783% better than Tomas Tatar? EA NHL24 says no. Massive overpay folks.

Player comparisons aside, buying out UFA years also just costs more. Dahlin was bridged before so this contract was always going to cost more.
Add in that Dahlin is at least a tier above Sanderson and it’s not a great flex.
