JAD played well defensively in camp, but did not show enough to stick. The job was his to take, but he got outplayed.
I'm wondering if the Kings should make a trade similar to the Bernie Nichols trade when they got Sandstrom and Granato. As an example, Maybe send Fiala to Buffalo for say Cousins and Quinn. It would help with the cap a lot. I realize that Fiala probably has a no move clause and Couzins is a really good player Buf probably won't give up but this is just an example of how they can possibly shed some money and still have some guys on the wing who can produce. Nice job losing Gino for nothing, Blake. Maybe you were too busy surfing to pay attention to what is going on.
Laffy is gonna be a pretty special player going forward. Many of us have followed him during his college years and his last season at Harvard showed that there was some legitimate talent.
The young man plays a complete 200’ game, has good wheels and great hands. He has that “it” factor and the Kings and fans are going to love him in black and silver for years to come.
The real question is what will Blake and Co. do when in one game Laffy organically and seamlessly fit with PLD and Fiala, unlike the continued attempt of banging the square peg (Arty) into a round hole.
My take, if Laffy is lights out for the first half in ONT, we may see a move to get him on that 22/80 line.
Ok been watching nhl since the mid 80s. I don't recall a kings team with 11 frwds starting the season. 3 lines and 4th line with 2 frwds? Is this what fans have to endure because of careless spending by general managers around the league and the inadequate cap space nhl has with rising salaries? Hockey is one of my favorite sports but its getting more and more like fans are talking more about contracts, cap space, and business side of things than actual play on the ice. Way its going, soon teams will be trading contracts for draft pics.
