In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the players that have formally been announced as making the team, and which other players are going to have to wait and sweat it out until Wednesday. Matthew Phillips who came to the Caps from the Calgary Flames organization has impressed all of the preseason and beat out Aube-Kubel, Mantha and Snively. Later Dan talks about how Lucas Johansen made the team. He was drafted in 2016, it was Dan’s belief that this was his make-or-break year. The final roster will be announced Wednesday. The Capitals play their first game Friday against the Penguins.

Mantha is an extra 😂 that’s great
I think considering the mentorship Ovechkin offers for Miro and the showing he did have at the camp means that if Phillips/Mantha/Malenstyn struggle or there is injuries Miro will most likely get his opportunities this year
