  1. Not a Habs fan at all, but love the humility Bergevin shows in discussing if KK should have spent an extra year in JR.

  2. If you can't see why Kotka and Aho will be great together, just don't worry about it. MB did, and tried to get Aho, so this has gotta be a tough loss for him. Great friends hopefully develop great chemistry together too.

  3. Bergevin made the right decision kk is gonna be a good player but not a star canadiens unfortunately will never win the Stanley cup without a star forward 🤷🏿‍♂️

  4. I find all of the "lack of development by the Habs" talk funny. The local media ALMOST always goes with the negative spin (Arpon and Stu) when something goes awry. Honestly, If the offer sheet doesn't happen then the kid keeps developing and the conversation never even happens (and, I wonder if KK would have even said anything about his development. They are always looking to blame someone (ok, Begervin).

  5. Being a VERY long time habs fan i can say that they do NOT give the players the tools to reach their full potential. The main problem with this org has been the constant push towards defensive hockey. They never let players play offensively and learn the entire game on their own so it holds back the offensive output of the players.Their SYSTEMS also bother me a lot, when i watch them in the various zones i get a bit pissed because they look like a team that has had ZERO coaching.A guy liek Drouin is aperfect example,he does not shoot the puck enough and they have too many players that want to play perimeter hockey.Cycling the puck around the outside never shooting is incredibly frustrating to watch.
Defensively they collapse down low to help a VERY slow defense but luckily the lowest guy is out for the year.Collapsing down low makes it real tough to get the puck out and it makes it way harder for the forwards to get a good rush going.
This team has since forever needed some real hockey people to teach these players how to play like a winner instead of just defensive hockey to make the goalie look good.

  6. As to Dvorak,i am a Dvorak fan since the first time i saw him live as a junior.AS to Kotkaniemi well imo they never found the proper wingers for him but it is tough because most every team is looking for a shooter and the habs need shooters.I am/was a huge Caufield fan,i wanted him in the draft and was surprised they got him but i am not sold on him producing under this defensive system and being a small player also playing with another small player.

  7. Tough one…. KK would have been fun to keep….. but possibly had a bad (selfish) attitude.. Stupid system where owners can raid other teams… can see it happening a lot more.. (based on potL vs proven contribution). Not good for fans to have ave players overpaid as money comes from the fans. A great last Yr… & unfotunate; Price/Weber injury, Perry leaving or not paying enough, now KK… Some big gaps (Center & 1st Pair D) — were doing so well… then lost so much this off-season !! Not really fair – but gave all of Cda a thrill.
