I would give stammer maybe 3 more years if i were Julien. Dude is one of the biggest faces of his generation and is gonna be up there with some of the biggest goal scorers all time and is a hell of a captain having captained the bolts to 4 cup finals in less than a decade. I mean a guy with the type of playing style as stammer, the bolts might never see a guy like this again so make sure we use stammer wisely cause the dude is worth every penny.
If Tampa is smart they would actually let him walk in free agency… I know that sounds stupid but with him off the books and Brayden Point taking big steps they could use that cap space to even out the team more and Sergachev is also taking big steps as well… if they keep Stamkos they will still be a good team but if they let him walk they could end up better then they are now… Vegas made tough decisions like this and it worked out, Tampa may need to do the same.
Should be getting atleast a 3 year deal around 7-8M. He's the face of the franchise and a great leader and is still a top 6 player on any team in the NHL
Perfect. That’s when Willy becomes a UFA. Trade Willy for that defensman we need and bring Stammer home and sign him on a team friendly deal like we did JT.
There's no chance he doesn't retire as a bolt. If that happened it would go down as one of the most disrespectful moves by an organization. If he doesn't want to that's a different story but if they don't give him the chance….
