Is Sebastian Aho an NHL Superstar?? @Chevrolet

  1. Why wouldn’t he be? He’s 11th among all players in the league for goals scored in the last 5 years, he’s lead the league in short handed goals since joining the league. He’s lead his team in playoff points all 5 years they made it. Kids an absolute monster on both ends of the ice and he’s the 1C on a top 5 team in the league.

  2. Aho’s problem isn’t size, he brings a surprising amount of physicality, it’s his shot/release. He’s always a pass first guy and just needs some goal scorers around him. The svechnikov injury really hurt their chances

  3. Calling that a home town discount is laughable, the entire league is over paid that’s why 17% of ever players paycheque goes back to the owners, they get way more than their negotiated 50% and contracts like this one and every contract to a decent player in Toronto drive that up and every player across the league pays for it

  4. Depends how you define a superstar. He's definately among the best Centers in the league. Drawing the line between elite and superstar is subjective. I would say he is since he's consistant 80-point player, 35-40 goals and great defensively. Some with stricter requirements might say: "yes elite but not quite a superstar".

  5. This is a fair take. Aho can always build his physique to be more like McKinnon/Crosby to withstand the playoffs
