There’s an element of truth in it, at least

  2. Lavs1985

That it’s unique? Yes. Him talking like this is up to NHL standards or their goal? No. That THEY built it? Come on, man!

  3. fcdemergency

I’d still love to see an away game there trashed, i bet its fun as fuck. But this reads like they’re in no hurry to find a new home…

  4. Otterslayer22

Nothing like it I. The nhl for sure

  5. phoenixember

I’m sure it’s cool seeing them play in a smaller and more intimate arena, but this team will never be competitive or profitable if they can only sell a few thousand seats per game. They’re only going to spend to the cap floor or just above it for the foreseeable future.

  6. Kappokaako02

ive been a few times, it is dope….not sustainable, but it is dope

  7. Comfortable-Ad-7158

Calling this good because it’s unique is like calling my third nut a good thing.

  8. that_madcow

    there’s definitely nothing like it… 😂

  9. AutomatedSaltShaker

Completely agree. I have been to multiple games.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a Yotes fan or a fan of the visiting team.

There’s no more intimate NHL hockey experience anywhere in North America. Period.

    Players love the ice conditions.

    Fans love the experience.

    No bad seats.

  10. Vic_Hedges

There’s plenty of college hockey experiences identical too it.

  11. TherealDJStryker

I mean.. every seat is Close to the ice I guess

  12. Calling__Elvis

100%. The players love the intimacy and ice quality. If only it was financially sustainable….

  13. Footinthecrease

They did create this situation…. That’s true

  14. Greendaydude22

I say keep them in that arena forever! Cause then atleast I know the jets can never leave

  15. cheeseburgerwaffles

Translation: we didn’t make any effort to find an actual legitimate arena to play in despite the fact that they exist all over the nation, so we’re going to half ass it and then put lipstick on a pig and only point out silver linings like “every seat is the best seat in the house ”

No shit dumbass. Every seat is great because you don’t have anything more than 20 feet from the ice. You’re playing in an arena smaller than some WHL arenas. You’re a joke.

  16. comacove

…yes, sure. but i’m not sure, under the circumstances, this is something to be proud of…

  17. Putthebunnyback

I mean, sure, it’s probably a unique experience. But it’s an amateur look.

  18. ARancidFart

If all the seats are bad, none of them will be

  19. s3nsfan

I agree that there’s nothing like it in the nhl. I mean no team can compete at all with 6500 seats. I mean even the jets ~15k arena can’t touch that

  20. DCTX2017

Calling something ‘unique’ doesn’t make it necessarily ‘good’

  21. theboss555

So what were to happen if the coyotes made it to the Stanley cup final? They gonna play final games in that arena? Cmon

  22. Sufficient-Cookie404

It took him over a year to come up with that. Remember that!

  23. LogieThePerogie

    “Created something special” lol

  24. We booked a flight & hotel from Tampa to go to a Coyotes game. We figure this can’t last and we need to see it before it’s gone lol

  25. daxtaslapp

Can somebody get my up to speed? Whats happening?

  26. _Retired_

“There’s not a bad seat in the house”. There is a lot of truth to that in these small arenas. I had season tickets to the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena (now Hertz Arena) – capacity is about 7000. There really is not a bad seat in the house. It’s kind of equivalent to the lower bowl of an NHL arena but 1/8 of the cost. I love minor league hockey because I can actually afford to attend games. The NHL is TV-only for me even though I’m closer to an NHL arena than the Everblades arena.

  27. Cleets11

What’s he supposed to say our rink is to small and our organization is the laughing stock of the league?

  28. PBGO123

It’s so fucking foolish that the NHL will go to the ends of the Earth to keep this franchise in Arizona and allow shit like this to happen at the expense of better markets like Quebec City and Houston. Gary Bettman is a brainless fool.

”There’s not a bad seat in the house.” No shit bro. The stadium is literally smaller than AHL and ECHL arenas. Hell, the Tuscon Roadrunners, the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate, has a larger arena. This loser is trying to cherry-pick any silver lining he can in this shit situation.

  29. pippinsfolly

Pretty sure Bakersfield get more butts in seats than Arizona.

  30. Neat_Force9696

They providing lawn chairs or do I have to bring my own? Bring my own? Ok

  31. Shawnaldo7575

    Basically, he’s polishing a turd.

  32. stephenlipic

I mean it’s true. Outside of allowing cannibals in they’re certainly creating a unique environment.

  33. MapRich4328

Bettman keeps a club in Arizona because of the great golf courses they have. So many other city’s deserve a club over Arizona. Bettman is a joke of a commissioner, you’d think this the nhl would want to expands its popularity level in North America, so hard to watch any games on TV here in Canada without having to pay or find a live stream.

  34. TarsesaK

“There is nothing quite like it in the NHL” in the CHL, however.

  35. kiiyyuul

What arenas do have bad seats? Nationwide doesn’t really.

  36. scumbagstaceysEx

I’ve been thinking of flying out there from upstate NY to catch a game. Does seem like it would be a unique experience.

  37. Peek0_Owl

That is a genuine 3 point shot on being technically correct.

  38. BillyBeso

I got to watch the New York Rangers play in a 5,000 seat arena and it was incredible. Anyone who doesn’t think there is something special about that doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
