To bad Russia was unable to break Finland anti-hockey strategy, hockey with no goals is not enjoyable. Finland won but the rest of the hockey world lost. Luckily from the next year tournament will be held in NHL-sized rinks which will make such an embarrassment impossible.
I remember watching the final three minutes and thinking I will have a heart attack. My heart was bouncing so hard and I was shaking when the game was over and we won. Russia tried so hard at the end and the goalie Lankinen lost his stick in the final minute. He was so exhausted he just fell on the ground after it was over. It was true sisu.
Yeah. I have to admit you deserved it. Your goalkeeper was kick-ass. Attack line too. And I saw poor big Ovechkin skating like sheet that day. Our players struggled near the rink sides instead of going straight ahead and doing it! We were hardly saved from the 1st goal! I guess our NHL stars felt themselves already in the finals and you put them back to Earth. I feel bitchy with all this. And I reckon our new coach team will make conclusions! WTF 1 million $ contracts? Congrats guys, next time there will be a new fight) I see we are in the same group for the next Champ rite;) Cheers.
This brings me back to WWII, when finland defeats the soviet union(russia) on their first battle. And then the soviets appointed a new commander, to defeat finland.
