That seems like a quite harsh call. I assume the NHL uses something similar to the OBI standard, and I can understand this beeing called because of the B (Benefit) if it resulted in the Rangers losing possession of the puck. An "OBI analysis" is of course not needed if there is no foul in the first place. Crosschecking is defined in rule 59 in the NHL rule book as "The action of using the shaft of the stick between the two hands to forcefully check an opponent." This does not seem particularly forcefull
