According the Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks have granted Conor Garland permission to talk to other teams about a potential trade.
As well, the Canucks practiced with only 11 healthy forwards and 5 defencemen today, so they’ll need to make some roster moves ahead of tomorrow night’s game vs. the Edmonton Oilers.

Everything has to go right. This team is always up to other things besides hockey. Canucks luck is so real. Why can't things just be simple like other organizations without the drama and just play hockey.
Garland is crafty player and solid NHLer. A bit too small and soft. Won't miss him.
Not sure we really run deep enough to get rid of Garland right now. Then we are relying on AHL quality players to fill up that 3rd and 4th line. Already have PDG on 2nd line…

I LIKE Garland, he's fast, agile, good in the corners, has a fair shot, and should be making 2.5 mil a year, not 4.45 mil. I moved to Vancouver in 2007 and it seems like every year, for SIXTEEN YEARS, there's a bad deal hanging over the team. I can name so many BAD contract decisions off the top of my head its ridiculous. Luongo's stupid TWELVE YEAR DEAL!, Vrbata, Higgins, Vanek, Eriksson, Ferland (guy played what, 3 games?!?), Beagle, Ekman-Larson, Edlers 2nd deal, not signing Horvat over Miller, letting Toffoli walk, bungling both Jake Virtanen And Jared something from the same draft year, singing friggin Mats Sundin for gods sake! Screwing up Hodgkins back surgery, Pearson's hand, and now maybe Mikheyev's knee? Canucks management have been Morons for a decade and a half just thowing money out the windows with little to no results. 1 Campbell cup and 2 Presidents trophies? I almost give up…
I'm sure a team will want him, but at what price and the fact that the other teams know the team is trying to move him. There won't be much coming back. I think it would be better to see what you can get at the deadline, but what do I know, I'm an armchair GM.
