Rangers royally fucked up. Gotta move him and probably gonna take an asset to get rid of him. But they gotta do it. The teams been out of synch with him on the ice since the beginning of last year. He ruins the top line. He’s a huge liability at each end of the rink. He hasn’t shown anything for like 4 years. Time to cut your losses on that one.
NY has been trying to turn Lafreniere into a RW, which is only hurting his development. He's a natural LW. Let him play where he's comfortable and move the kid line up to 2nd line minutes. Panarin or Kreider dropping to the third line is worth it for their development. They're ready to take their next steps. They just need to give them a chance, which NY is allergic to doing for their prospects.

The lane and panarin combo failed miserably. They’ve lose their magic. Trade Lafreniere and panarin retool for 2 years(still waiting for the rebuild they announced in the letter anyways)

The kid is just an average player with no drive to improve his game especially skating. He just doesn't move well enough to be a difference maker. The situation is almost at a boiling point because you won't get much in a trade either. That 1OA/potential bust stigma will be tough to shake.
