Johnny Beecher on First NHL FIGHT | Bruins Postgame Interview

BOSTON, MA — Johnny Beecher made his NFL debut with the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-3, 216-pound Beecher won six of 11 faceoffs and dropped the gloves for his first NHL fight.

The Bruins selected Beecher in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He made the team with a strong showing in training camp and the preseason. The University of Michigan product has good size at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, and he’s not afraid to throw his weight around when needed.

The hope for the Bruins is that Beecher can provide some offense for the bottom-six forward group in addition to killing penalties and playing a physical game.

  1. Beecher was a stand-up hockey player. Knew he had to pay for the penalty and didn't wimp out. He looked good out on the ice overall. The bottom six on the Bruins looked very good last night. And he did an excellent job on the fourth line with Looch and Lauko.
