Early in the 3rd, Randy McKay grabs the puck at his own blueline and feeds Sergei Brylin trying to get a step on Sergei Zubov, gets a backhander off that is roofed over Ed Belfour to give the Devils a 5-1 lead!
Then less than a minute late, amidst the “Bellllfouurrrrr” chants, Patrik Elias’ cenetring pass is deflected right to Petr Sykora who one times it past Ed Belfour to put the Devils up 6-1! Cue Manny Fernandez!

Sarge will be one of the most remembered Devils in history…even though he wasn't a scoring threat he dedicated his life to the Devils organization and played with heart and confidence.

Sarge was a good soldier.
This was the most fun I've ever had at a game as a devils fan. I've been to a lot of games but never have devils fans been this loud, gone as wild after a goal and chanted throughout a game. Sat right behind the goal where the devils shot against in the 2nd period. You can kinda see me in one of the replays.

God I miss the Continental Airlines Arena. The Devils were so unstoppable in their playoff games in there. They haven’t been the same since moving to the Rock 10 years ago
Fun story about this game.. I was at the game and I had a math exam the next day and somehow my math teacher was at the game as well.
