I don't know if this talk box is made by Bob Heil of Heil Sound, but he made the ones used by Peter Frampton and Joe Walsh. Basically, some of the sound from the instrument like a guitar or keyboard is fed directly into a driver, something like a midrange driver. A tube coming from the driver carries the sound that has a lot of sound pressure in it. The tube is put in your mouth and your mouth contours the sound. The sound comming out of your mouth, is picked by a microphone and put through the PA.
2.) Was Debbie Gibson (a musician who's been around since the late 80's and recorded with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and so on) not familiar with Jazz before 2018? Bruno Mars uses a lot of Jazz elements in his music. Her comment came that "you guys are Jazz musicians, but you're doing a Bruno Mars song so the audience can….relate to it (?!?!?!?)" I kind of wonder what Bruno would think of that comment. Was she trolling them? What's with that?
3.) Justin and Jamie are even better today. Still a great performance even in a constricting format with judges that don't seem to know that much about music. The Schultzes are just inspiring every time I see them. Their music is keeping me sane during the pandemic.

An absolutely brilliant performance. What amazing improvisation and talent. Just a pity the judges were too slow to show appreciation. I think he is too brilliant for them to handle.
