Robin Lehner VS Riku Helenius (October 20th, 2012)

October 20th, 2012 Syracuse Crunch at Binghamton Senators

An insane fight-filled, scorefest, period and a half for the B-Sens left Crunch goalie, Riku Helenius, with salt in the wound. After a pileup on Sens goalie, Robin Lehner, by two Crunch players and two Sens, another fight was imminent. Fiery as always, Lehner retaliated in the pileup which prompted Helenius to use this opportunity before his impending swap for Dustin Tokarski to finally blow off some steam after allowing 5 goals on 12 shots in 23 minutes.

  1. Tekikö Helenius tosissaan jotain ilman niitÀ sen sÀÀllittÀviÀ filmaus yrityksiÀ? 0.o

  2. rikun ois kyl pitĂ€ny voittaa, mutta hyvĂ€ yritys 🙂

  3. Don't remind me. 😛 In the 9 years I've been a B-Sens fan, I've never EVER seen us drop a game like that.

  4. Exactly. And he's one of only two goalies to play at least 5 games in the league, making him the best goalie in the AHL after 2 weeks.

  5. Finnish? Yes, bitter? no. Just annoyed about Lehners unsportmanship behaviour in the end and after the fight..

  6. I've been watching hockey for a decade and what Lehner did at the end of the fight was entirely acceptable, especially on home ice. The only reason Lehner got tossed for "Aggressor" was because after emerging from the pileup that sparked the fight, he threw a few shots with equipment still on. Helenius wanted to fight because he was going to be swapped regardless and had had enough. To Helenius' credit, he held himself together after each goal. I was surprised he opted to fight, truthfully.

  7. Lehner actually let his team down…if I recall, Sens blew a 5 goal lead after the fight and lost in OT, 6-5. I could be mistaken though…HAHA
