This video shows an example of an effective play that starts with a great initial pass by Dowd and ends with a goal off a pass in tight by Backstrom. Backstrom cradles the puck to create space, giving him options with the puck and then slides it through the tight gap between the defender’s feet because of that space he created by cradling the puck.
