We Are Witnessing NHL History

Right now, NHL Hockey fans are witnessing history anytime they watch Edmonton Oilers Centre Connor McDavid play a game. Here’s how….

  1. Is mccrybaby still weeping over the Canucks 1st line PP and removing Demko in the 3rd period? Does he need a tissue?

  2. I’m definitely not disagreeing with the McD analogy. I’m a HUGE McD fan! However…McD is in his prime. All of the other legends played with serious injuries or their numbers declined with age. Crosby missed almost 200 games in what should have been his absolute prime and were also seasons where he was on the same numbers pace as McD. We’ll see where McD is after about 1000 games and later. Until then…McD I believe is unbelievable to watch.

  3. Hard to compare point per game different players from different teams, even worse if it is different era. Point per game depend so much about how good are your teammates and also about the game style of your team, if defense if priority this could change a lot results.

  4. Points Per game and +/- is a shitty stat it shouldn't exist honestly, it makes legendary players lose their credibility and its so fucking useless no one looks at these ever

  5. He will win a ton of hardware in his career but I hate to say this but I don't think the Stanley Cup will ever be one with Edmonton.

  6. great vid. as a goalie this is a tough watch, but i’m pretty sure mcdavid couldn’t bury one on me so i’m good

  7. The thing you aren't taking into consideration is as he ages he will slow down and his PPG will drop.

Also the game is less physical then its ever been, which makes it much easier to skate fast and get chances.

  8. never seeing points per game like that again?? lmao I got 20 goals in 10 minutes in a AA grand final, and made McDavid look like an amateur. Getting like 30-40 goals against him. Safe to say, you'll see numbers like that again.

  9. Great breakdown man! I love it. Didn't realize there were so many finer points his game. This dude is not from this planet!

  10. Why do McJesus always look like he shit himself in every picture? I guess living in Edmonton will do that to ya 😂

  11. I’ll never get tired of watching that backhand no-look pass against the Blackhawks.

  12. The part about McDavid fooling defenders with his eyes and feet is a bit of a stretch. Hockey players are taught at a young age to fool players by looking somewhere where they are not going to pass the puck. Every player in the NHL does this, Hell, anyone hockey player who has played some level of hockey does this.
In 2 on 1 situations, Defenders are taught to ALWAYS take the pass option away and let the goalie have a clean chance at stopping the puck. That's why in all of these replays where your claiming he's "fooling defenders with his eyes and feet". The Defender is trying to take the passing lane away and letting a shooting lane open up so the goalie has a better chance at stopping the puck. He's making textbook hockey decisions that all players are taught, he's the best player in the world after all.

  13. you forgot………..that promising Russian………….alexander OVENCHICKEN!! tsk tsssk! he"s only 73 goals away from ALL TIME LEADING scorer………..or in 2 years he will pass the Gretsky………..

  14. Really impressive to see him only step on the gas more as 1, he gets older and 2, players around him are getting better. Not a easy task leading a Canadian team while also being one of the best in the game.

  15. Meh. If Sidney Crosby have better line mates in his career he would have much better stats. Sidney and Malkin would have better stats if they play together. They chose winning over stats.

  16. another key part of McDavid's game is simply genetic, his muscle fiber distribution is without a doubt pushed to the explosive extreme. No matter how hard you train, most people will never have the speed and ability to change direction he has. That doesn't take away from all the other skills he has developed, but just something to note.

  17. He didn't work any magic against the Canucks this week (one basic assist during an 8-1 loss). And though Vancouver played well defensively overall there didn't seem to be any specific tactics employed to shut McDavid down. It was the season opener though so he has 81 more games.

  18. Modern day Pavel Bure… stop comparing this dude to wayne and mario… all he does is skate by people just like Bure…

  19. Yet he and Draisaitl can't even get near the cup. It's almost like racking up points isn't the only thing that makes a player good?

  20. I don't know what this video is about. But if it is not something unreal, I'm unsubscribing and never watching another video.

  21. And what happens when the other team plays the same fast game. They lose. He gives up massive chances all because the offense is pushed deep into the opponents end. Just watch the canucks game.

  22. Hey Hockeypsych … make a video on Pavel Bure. I feel like he is a somewhat forgotten player and needs some love from this channel.

  23. McDavid represents everything that makes hockey so fun and thrilling to watch. Quick, clever, unpredictable, and overall just so much raw talent. Being able to tell people “I saw McDavid play in person” is basically the same as saying “I got a copy of the Bible signed by Jesus himself”

  24. Good Vid, although hard to watch with over explaining and examining basic moves to be something spectacular and well thought through. Players just do these moves without thinking, it’s basics of hockey
