I agree with a lot of comments in the game and post game thread There was a lot to like about this game. There is no reason to panic or hang heads or be mad.
But I do want to point out things I noticed that should be cleaned up. Really just things to watch for improvement.
1) Too many pucks on backhands. Not just the D who played their off hand side. Too many times guys were forced to their backhands down the boards or passes were behind them or to wrong side of them and they had to adjust to catch on backhand. Or passes off the backhand not as crisp, fast allowing for Wild to get sticks in way etc. The more they can keep on the forehand the more flexibility, precision, and zip on passes.
2) HIT the Friggin net but when you do dont hit the friggin goalies logo. Felt like they had trouble dialing in their shots and placement. Barkov, Tkachuk, Verhaeghe on down. Gustavsson was on but they warmed him up and then didnt challenge him enough. They did that a lot last reg season.
3) Another preseason/rust thing was all of the wide loops/turns. No stops and starts. No tight turns. were they skated too hard and now ragged? Or is this just laze and rust? either way they had trouble getting where they needed to go switching lanes, moving with tranaition or counter strike, or staying with a check.
Shake off the loss and get a win on Saturday. Get the goals going and see what happens.
