    I hate shootouts so much.

But! First point of the season, so that’s nice.

  2. alienbanter

I am officially concerned about the offense lol. At least we got a point and our goalies look solid to start the season. Why do we have to yo-yo between extremes on either end lol

  3. LC_From_TheHills

Pretty fucking awful start to the season. Need to figure out how to score and need to do it now.

Boys come back home on Tuesday. Let’s go root them on and get our first win. We have to get the ball rolling.

  4. AtYourServais

Y’know when I was asking for two goals earlier I didn’t think that was actually a demanding ask.

  5. retiredcrayon11

Hey guys! Matty is at 55% face off win percentage tonight.

  6. That OT was painful to watch, felt like we needed to take better advantage of how gassed the Blues were

I feel like I’m in the upside down. Our goalies are incredible but the skaters can’t score!

But seriously, this team has had stretches in all 3 games where they have played well or even dominated but has failed to convert that into pucks in nets. That has to change immediately.

  8. Can’t wait to see more Daccord in the coming weeks! We need to get our 5v5 shot scoring back…

  9. pastpastdue

Lukan is right. One huge observable difference with Daccord tonight compared to last season was rebound control.

  10. Welp. I have some thoughts. Some are even positive!

    – Ol’ Joey Okay looked great tonight. I think he’s always going to stress me out considering how aggressively he plays the puck, though.

    – Love me a good Penalty Kill, and the Kraken are showing that the second-half form from last year carried over.

    – They made a note on the broadcast that the Kraken had a FO winrate of 70% through the first 2 periods, so that’s fun too!

    – Bellmare looked like he was all over the ice in the defensive zone today. For an old man, he’s got some energy which is nice to see.

    – Oleksiak also seemed like a force tonight, both defensively and even offensively. Still a large fan of that large man.

    – Kraken’s shooting percentage last year was probably somewhat unsustainable, and their shooting percentage this year is also probably somewhat unsustainable. We’ve started the season against 3 really good goalies (elite in Saros’ case).

    – The passing has not looked crisp to start the season. It seems like there have been a lot of turnovers and miscommunications that lead to opposing chances, as well as cutting short our own chances.

    – 3-on-3 overtime was pretty awful outside of that one shot on goal that Binnington made a tremendous save on. I get waiting for a good opportunity so you don’t let the other team get an easy breakaway, but they played so fucking passively that I was kinda with the booing Blues fans..

    – At least we’re not going to go pointless this season!

The entire Seattle roster: 2 goals in 3 games. Auston Matthews: 6 goals in 2 games

Another observation after three games, wondering if other people are seeing it…

We are slower this year, right? Feels like we lost some of the constant pace we had last year. Bellemare, Dumoulin stand out as anchors (pun intended?) that are slowing us down.

It’s gonna get better right? *Takes a look at the schedule* well fuck.

Two goals in 3 games is inexcusable. Panic button? Idk yet. Every team we’ve played so far has either shot blocked everything or the goalie goes beast mode. It’s incredibly frustrating.

For like 3 minutes in OT the blues didn’t change and I swear we didn’t get a single shot off. No killer mentality. Burky needs to shoot the puck. Eberle should never be on a shootout again.

Daccord and PK great again but doesn’t matter if you can’t score.

  14. Fantastic-Plant-6488

So is Matty Beniers supposed to become a star at some point? This offense looks abysmal and we have no elite threats.

  15. futuregoalie

Dang what an exciting goalie battle. I’m thrilled with how strong our goaltending is so far this season. Between Joey and Gru I feel so safe. I feel like we did way better this game than last two games, we didn’t have any horrific breakaway turnovers, I saw people breaking plays up and we had good offensive pressure and I think we even scored a power play goal? So progress!

That said: please stop putting Eberle on the shootout, or at least don’t put him out in the first round 😂 I feel like he’s succeeded literally one time since the beginning of the inaugural season and goalies seem to read him faster and stop him faster than our other guys, he’s great during the normal course of the game but yeah for whatever reason it just isn’t working

  16. Dude we are so ass. Don’t leave Grubauer and Daccord out to dry like that. Literally everything improvement we made last season is going to be for nothing if we don’t change something…
