Shane Douglas is a treasure interview. So informative and delightful to listen to.
Why does Shane always have gas problems in interviews? Haha
WCW really dropped the ball by not making Flair swallow his pride and work that feud centered on how Shane got his big break by shitting on the NWA title.
2000 was a crap year and if done right that feud could of been a spark of hope in that bleak company
Mike Graham said, the guy that played the skateboard kid, looked good but never drew a dime lol
I was like 11 or 12 when the Gooker hatched. Still dancing like Mene Gene till this day
The Eddie Guerrero JBL storyline was the most racist storyline of all time.
It wasn't a one shot tasteless shock value situation. It was offensive on a different level.
I've always respected George South's work ethic
I think I recall Raven talking about having a similar conversation with Bruno haha
Maybe you can plug your books some more. I don't think you have shown them enough. I think there was about 5 seconds at the very beginning of the video that i didn't have to stare at them.
The Mulkey brothers took some of the best bumps in wrestling history
Why don't they ever ask who had the sweetest ass ?
My vote is undertaker !!
Whooooo whooooo
Shane is an underrated wrestler, a guy who was really great for a long while, and should really have been a way bigger star. Very fun interview.
need to have Shane Douglas on more often if its available. well spoken etc
Love your channel and WSI wrestling, Dutch Mantell Shane Douglas Francine you’ve had some of the best guests Don Muraco being probably the most uniquely special. Course now Don is gone and we’re stuck with bullshit Bagwell 🤮 at least you have Shane Douglas and the dirty Dutchman. If I only could get the holy grail Jim Cornette.
It's true the enhancement talent at TechWood Dr were great. Those guys could take a beating.
Batman w/Bruno Sammartino was Tony Marino (Real name Tony Silipini)
I always wanted to see Mike Jackson win a David and Goliath match but it never happened . Iron Mike Sharpe had everything to be a star but never clicked with the fans . George South could have been a Horsemen he was so smooth .
The word is getting out about The Playboy , Buddy Rose . He could have been a big name had he only wanted it enough .
The BattMan was Tony Marino . He made back for a couple of years .
Idk what type of guy Shane was as a wrestler that seems to get him like soooo much hate…but EVERY interview I've seen him in afterwards hes always seemed awesome…
Shane is definitely old school. He's one of the few older guys to talk about Buddy Rose. Buddy's biggest problem was the fact that he truly was a really nice guy when he wasn't wrestling. When I was younger, I got to meet him 6 different times at a place called Multnomah falls. Back in those days, while most of the other wrestlers were partying or looking for "rats" on a Sunday after the Saturday night shows in Portland, Buddy would be doing the waterfall route to relax. I met him one more time when I was in my early thirties at the same place. I was finally brave enough to ask him for a picture. So my mother has a Polaroid instamatic picture of me with "Playboy Buddy Rose" in her photo album in the same page as a photo of her with Dutch Savage and a very young Curt Hennig.
Stinkiest wrestler? Come on, everybody and their dog knows the correct answer is VADER.
Bret Hart said wrestling Vader was like wrestling a cement truck filled with barf.
why is Shane burping so much?
I feel like watching some ECW matches now
I thought Vader was the smelliest!
He sounds WOKE.Bye!
HHH should be sending Shane a fat Xmas card every year for stealing the franchise gimmick and turning it into the game
I actually names my little brother after him in 91.
Shane Douglas Stiltner.
My mom allowed it.
It was that or Hulk lol
When I think of enhancement type guys my brain always pops up with Tom Zenk. The Z Man
Great interview. Just an FYI: the Batman actor who died was voice actor Kevin Conroy
Mike Jackson was the greatest jobber ever (NWA from the 80s) and he still wrestles some now in his 70s.
I never heard a bad thing about George South.
So now I'm convinced that Mick Foley's mr socko finishing move was the worst for the guys to take
George South he would sell a tail whooping like nobody else
I would bet Gail Kim had a hard time in the locker room. First week she is wwe woman’s champion. Must have been hard for her.
I’ve watched a lot of these interviews from this SD session and it seems he has acid reflux or is very gassy
David Arquette winning the wcw title. Finger poke of doom. May young giving birth to a hand. Alot of bad story lines
He’s intelligent and eloquent. He’s a lot of fun to listen to.
Most bullied: Muhammad Hassan??? Sable?
Rio please like you said ck out the offensive line and the tight ends
@6:34 Jake the snake smoked heavy, I think Nash and Hall liked a lot of cannabis too
Perry Saturn really got "payback" for being a bully. He got shot in the neck, leaving him partially paralyzed. Then he developed a crippling drug addiction.
Genuine fella with a reAlistic perspective and eloquently presented. Imagine that. Sad we don’t have more like this in the business. But there are reasons for that
This is one of the only wrestling interviews where I’ve seen the fella concede that the racial angles in the 80s 90s early 2000s were hurtful. They reflected the worst of the society they sold tickets to. It hurt me, it hurt a lot of people.
The Red Rooster (Terry Taylor) was a redicuous gimmick.
