[Stan Nieradka] #NHL STAT DU JOUR: While it has been only 3 games, #Blackhawks Connor Bedard is averaging 22:05 per game. That would be the most by any rookie forward since they start officially tracking this in 1997-98. @NHLBlackhawks

I’m happy anytime Connor is on the ice because his play is so exciting especially with a team pretty low on talent – but there’s definitely been times through 3 games where I’m like “wait, he’s still on the ice?”
I think it was the back to back powerplays the other game where I’m pretty sure he was on the ice for like 3 minutes straight.
Have to admit I’m worried about fatigue hitting him later in the season. Maybe he’s so well conditioned it won’t be a problem but I’ve been surprised by his length of shifts and overall ice time so far.
unsustainable. he needs to be in the 19 range
We’ve had three games and all have been pretty close through to the final minutes of play, that won’t be the case all season long.
His TOI will taper off, no sense in analyzing it in terms of “would be the most of any rookie forward [ever]” yet lol
Where do people get these stats? What would be the leaderboard? And how about guys like Kaner and Toews? McDavid and MacKinnon must be high on the list?
Well yeah, he’s an energy guy who is good at everything.
