Goal #2 he should have stopped as he was out of position and didnt seal the post to his left………the other 3 were two deflections and a one timer right at the crease………I dont blame Vitek for 3 of the 4

Can’t put it on the goalie for the team not showing up for the first 50 minutes of the game.

It’s on the rest of our team not showing up until period 3.

One on hand, it’s not his fault. On the other hand, and what I think is pretty standard for him, he didn’t do anything special to keep us in it.
This is not a knee jerk reaction- I think he’s better off as a really good backup.

Not a lot of blame, but enough to justify the investment in a world class goalie.. it’s been 20 years since we won the cup ..

Boy I don’t agree with this assessment at all. The first Reinhart goal came in part because he didn’t close off the five hole, the Verhaeghe goal caught him completely off guard where he didn’t seal off the post, and the second Reinhart goal came from a decent tip, but one where he was too far out to be able to make a play. Yes these were all high danger chances, but a starting caliber netminder has to make some of these saves or at least appear competent on them. He wasn’t square with the play on three of the four goals against. I’m not saying the team in front of him played particularly well, but I think he was the chief reason that they lost tonight.
