What gets me is that in the midst of this, the Canucks go out and get another bottom 6 forward. Sure, if they’re trading Garland imminently, that’s one thing, but once again, optically it looks terrible because Soucy was supposed to play a big role and the team is expected to make the playoffs this year and they can’t get off to the start they need unless the D are where they need to be. If they’re making a trade, it should be for a 4-5 defensive defenseman.
