The Edmonton Oilers came into game one of the new season with high expectations, and through two games have been punched in the mouth consecutively by the Vancouver Canucks. Let’s discuss it.

It's 2 games against the same team, relax
I also blame the coaching. Just how bad does Nurse have to repeat the exact same type of never learn a lesson mistakes that cost goals and games, before he gets benched or scratched? Bouchard and Nurse are a good pairing? The worst Zone coverage I've ever seen. At some point, some it it is on the coach. I think that some point was 2 years ago. I hope Kates is shopping for a more effective coach.
I am with you, I am angry. I got my Sportsnet subscription and look to see the team that apparently is supposed to be on top this year. I have been a fan for years and it is always the same. Gets tiring after all these years.
Doesn't seem any of them are taking this seriously….I guess kane thought he was funny…?
This leadership group has a reputation for not being ready to play. They havenât won game one of a series since 2017 against Anaheim.
Holland could literally pick up next goalie on waivers and it would be an improvement
I think the Oilers need a new Goalie coach, and defense needs to be unpredictable and be more harder
Congratulations of your sobriety. I am 20 years sober. One is too many and a thousand is not enough! You are doing terrific! The anger is real and it is something that plagues us. Maybe tomorrow night the Oilers will come out and show us something good.
They need to stop taking unnecessary penalties
I think people need to chill out, its 2 games in stop being angry about how they are playing so far and just let the season unfold for a bit and we can start to panic if the record sucks by the new year
Every team knows how to beat this candy ass team. Vegas beat them and showed every team how why was the right wing so weak.
Does it seem obvious to anyone else that dustin Schwartz needs to go? I feel like he must be a really popular person with the oilers because to have the results he has had and to still have job is mind-boggling.
I feel you Tyson alcohol has made me make some really stupid decisions in the past couple years and I didnât realize alcohol was the problem until a few months ago. So Iâve been sober for the past couple months and I plan to keep it like that because I already feel better about myself. Keep going buddyđđŒ
Yep Canucks will win the cup đ
You get a goal, they get a goal, every body gets a goal…. Lol. Lol. It's just what's expected. Lol
It's the D core y'all, goalie secondary, it's Nurse and his bloated salary that is going to sink us!
is it fair to say that the players on this team including Nurse, Kane, Brown don't respect Mcdavid and drai and just expect them to carry the team to victory
They will turn it around
Lackadaisical
It is only a game
Donât get so upset
Great analysisâappreciate the hard truth honesty. You earned a sub.
Iâm not going to complain until I see a full 2 weeks of oilers hockey before I see if getting pissed is warranted. Itâs TWO GAMES. At this point everyoneâs just regurgitating the same thing about the last 2 games.
Who cares about you being sober
Letâs stick to hockey
If Tochett was available, we should have scooped him before Vancouver.
Come on, it's the start of the season. It's not going your way Tooooo bad. Relax , take some valium .
Congrats on your journey
The last time I remember drinking alcohol was back in April 2016. I bought a can of Boxer Apple at a Sobeys Liquor before hopping the train from NAIT to the south side of Edmonton, and after just a few sips I felt wasted. I was 21 and just days away from the end of my Millwork program. Had a hard time staying awake until I finally got back to my house and felt relief to hit the hay. Haven't consumed any alcohol since. And I'm supposed to come from a family that is heavy on alcohol consumption.
And I agree, they have to do something to right the ship before they get to November. They're in Nashville tomorrow night, and the Preds will be looking to push for a playoff spot after narrowly missing out in the final stretch of last season, so if I'm the Oilers, this is the time to bounce back. Get Deharnais back in the lineup, sit out either Ceci or Kulak, and open up their defensive structures.
