Unless he is taking a million dollar deal it aint happenin’. Wouldn’t really want him either. Maybe 6 years ago.

  2. Vivid_Walk_1405

It would have to be for a cheap deal but I’d like it. Put him on a line with nuke and RyJo and reunite lehky with the top line. I don’t see how we add his contract though

It would make sense in the fact that he would not be pressured to slot right in on the number 1/2 line and expected to be a game changer instantly coming off his surgery/recovery.

Money wise though, I dont see the Avs being able to offer what other contenders can….

  4. CitizenNaab

I’d love it but I don’t see how we can sign him.

If he wants to play for league minimum, which he’d have to, sure. He’s got his cups though, idk why he’d want to do that

Sounds flashy, but how? Franky’s LTIR money can only go so far, unless he takes a Drouin type deal. If we can make it work with the cap I can see this front office going for it. They’ve shown heavy interest in Kane whenever he was up for trade before.

He was there during the Beach stuff. No way he didn’t know about it and he never said anything. Old, morally questionable, and a high cap hit. No thanks.

I think we need to bolster line two or have a contingency if Drouin doesn’t work this season. I don’t like putting a bunch of slow/older skaters on line two though.

  9. tnick771

How the season has started and he hasn’t signed anywhere is so weird to me.

  10. Unfair_Turnip00

That’s gonna be a big No for me dawg….

  11. baumer028

Hard pass. IMO he would disrupt the locker room chemistry. Great player but he needs to just retire.

  12. flamingo_tackle

I just can’t see it right now. He would make Drouin redundant, and just like Drouin, does not work on a 3rd or 4th line. So you gamble he’s a marginal upgrade on Drouin and risk pissing off MacKinnon? Then you have to figure out what to do with a replaced Drouin? Makes no sense.

  13. new_nimmerzz

Don’t think it would be worth what we’d have to give up to make the cap work.

The last time I heard a rumor about avs chasing someone that turned out to be true was Rob Blake in 2001. Tracy accordingly

  15. TheLateFry

I watched the video, it’s just Weekes saying Colorado or Tampa would be a good fit because they are a contender with LTIR money. Sounds like just a guess to me.

How do we feel about Evan Rawal’s reliability? He’s no Dater, but I feel like this isn’t the first time he’s floated something that makes us all scratch our heads.

  17. Not now, but later in the year, nearing trade deadline, I might take another look. That lowers the cap hit. Allows a pressure free situation so our new guys have time to find their place

And anything from Chicago leaves a very unpleasant taste in my mouth, plus Kane didn’t look good in NYC. I don’t think a new hip makes him look much better.

In C-Mac I trust. Let’s see what management does

  18. UberXLBK

After all the shit I’ve talked about him? No

  19. KrombopulosNickel

He’s a boat anchor at this point. Pass

  20. milehighrukus

Absolutely yes. Dude is a proven winner and probably the best American hockey player of all time!!!

  21. someguyfromsk

Just clickbait. Spin the wheel of “pick a player, then pick a (good) team’.

  22. dillpatriot

Beyond cap reasons can someone tell me why the consensus seems to be they you all don’t want him, proven winner and clutch player, one of the best playmakers of all time would likely go on the top line wing and mesh w nate so well, improving our depth while doing so

  23. Exciting_Ad4264

I’m good, don’t really see what he brings that we need

  24. TheRegulaRawww

It’s not possible with current cap.

  25. BIGDINNER_

From a fiduciary duty standpoint, I don’t see why a team wouldn’t take Kane if it was on the table for an agreeable price. I don’t see a world where he doesn’t help make a team better for a Cup run. That said, there are injury risks.

And fiduciary duty aside, I don’t like his ego or believe he knew nothing about what was happening in Chicago.

  26. Uneedadirtnap

Makes sense near the trade deadline if we are struggling. If were rolling, we may need a defender or some grit for the playoff run.

  27. Maybe he needs a break from the city life lol.

  28. mitch-dubz

This is mere conjecture. Terrible journalism by multiple people here.
