According to Larry Brooks of The New York Post on Twitter, New York Rangers former top prospect from the 2017 NHL Entry Draft Lias Andersson has officially exhibited the last straw with the Rangers’ organization, and will not return with the club for the 2020 Stanley Cup Play-In Series and Playoffs, against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The implication is that Andersson’s desire still lies in being traded away from the Big Apple, much to the dismay of Rangers fans.

Also yeah, this thumbnail is amazing.

  1. It'll be hard to get anything out any potential trade. If he wants more ice time, he'll have to be better than the most other guys in the team which he currently is not. If you trade him to a bad team, he'll probably bolt again because those teams don't win. The rangers have to develop a prospect in the SHL and only have the choice to trade him when he's finally really good. Feels bad man.

  2. The problem with the Gold medal game is the loser gets the Silver. I've been in that exact circumstance. The mindset isn't "We won a Silver medal." It's "We lost the Gold medal." So that on its own isn't an issue. Compounded with his pissy attitude, and flaky personality………well THAT'S an issue.

  3. I do hope that he returns to nhl and has a great career.. I respect his competitive spirit and self confidence. Good luck

  4. A Rangers-Oilers trade makes too much sense .
    Andersson, Hajek, a 2020 4th and 2021 3rd for:
    Puljarvi, a 2020 2nd and 2021 5th

  5. Never liked the pick! It was an "extreme" reach for a "Derrick Stepan like" player. A hardworking grinder like Callahan, who had captain potential! I just never seen it. It reeks of a Glen Sather type of pick😒! I would look at sending him to teams who could use his skill set because of their playing style and prospect debth. Teams like: Colorado, Calgary, St. Louis, Vegas or Winnepeg. These teams are contenders, but have a plethora of prospects. You won't get higher than a 3rd rounder trading for picks. So, getting back a developed young wing, around 20-21 years old seems fair. Martin Kaut, Kim Klostins, Martin Hague are some suitable names!

  6. Another player who wants nothing to do with a Dolan franchise? Can't say I'm all that surprised. Something else that is obvious… the sky is blue.

  7. Guy is a total clown. Disaster pick by the rangers who clearly panicked after Vancouver took Petterson 5, who the rangers clamored for

  8. som svensk hockeyspelare sjÀlv tycker jag att det Àr upprörande för en svensk hockeyspelare att sÄdana ass lias anderson blir fÀngslad och repeterande lagsverige som det. det disapoints mig och den svenska hockey nationen.

  9. I dont think any team will trade for him. He didn't get his way so he quit like a pussy. So anytime things dont go his way, he just takes his ball and goes home like a baby. The Rangers should get compensated in some way if they cant move him. They shouldn't have to eat a 7th overall because Lias Anderson is a wuss.

  10. As a NY Rangers fan, I'm happy for us in hopefully trading Lias Anderson soon. He supposedly worked tirelessly on his skating this past off-season, but he is still really slow, & i barely think he is a future 4th liner maybe 3rd if he gets his skating up to NHL Level. I wish we would've drafted Chytil #7 instead of Lias & then drafted someone much different then Lias later on.
