On the transfer window deadline day, Barcelona managed to secure two of the best loan signings… possibly ever. And with João Félix and João Cancelo, Barca find themselves with, unthinkably, one of the best squads in Europe.

Today we take a look at why the Joáos solve so many of Xavi’s tactical problems, make Barca a force to be reckoned with, but also introduce a different kind of headache…

  1. The day I got to know that Two Joa's are going to join Barca, I knew that's going to be insane. Right back problem solved. The quality these players bring into the team is absolutely mindblowing. Barca's star is going to shine bright in the near future!

  2. Imo De Jong should be the one dropped but few people agree with it. I think he’s far too stagnant and Pedri is just more of a workhorse in and out of possession.

Then I’d prolly do Gundogen but always sub in Gavi or vice versa.

  3. hey, could you analyse the ajax situation that has been going on? as an ajax fan i'm truly sad to see all this happen.

  4. Puri, can you do a video on how Xavi can beat these teams with the low block defense. Watching the Mallorca match today you could tell he's experimenting and it was a mess. What would you do?

  5. Im not gonna lie i was unsure how both João's were gonna look considering one has struggled in Athletico and the other was on the bench at Man City but both have shown not only to fit the system extremely well (which i was less concerned with Cancelo since he was with Pep last season) but have shown to be extremely smart and look like this is just the beginning as theyre still acclimating to the team

  6. No matter who you might support its hard to not feel happy for a player like Felix, its always heart warming to see someone who has been struggling get a second wind and looking happy playing again.

  7. They haven't. They just played vs. too crappy teams like Betis and Antwerp. And I am a Barça fan.

  8. i know this is off topic a little, but with the addition of the 3rd Joao, as in Joao Palhinha, i think Portugal has a legit chance of winning the Euros next year.

  9. 2:34 this situation the mid defender must defend the center and let cancelo have the ball, he has to choose to defend the most threat pass wich is felix getting the ball. 2:45 he must cover felix because that's the most dangerus actully that's thd most important spot to defend on the field u allow it to go wide the % of danger drops alot when i play dominating that position in front of ur cb's, is super hard for the opposing team

  10. It's truly a shame to have destroyed what was the best backline I've seen in Kounde Araujo Christensen Balde. Barca have recieved so many more goals than last season, and I think the reason may be Cancelo slotting in at right back, I can only hope the team will get used to playing with that defensive hole on the right side, Araujo will have to do double duties in many situations.

  11. Do you think the Joao Felix role would have worked for Coutinho at Barca? I imagined if Coutinho was able to play inside like Felix that he would've succeeded. It's interesting b/c Jordi Alba is a known playmaker on the right side so maybe not having the right coach implimenting the tactics is why it didnt work out? Anyway, I'd love to know what you think. Thanks!
