  1. It’s weird. We feel like we have no offense, yet we’ve put up over 3 goals per game. Meanwhile our defense has let up 3, 4, and 4 goals, yet we’re focused almost exclusively on offense this last week (at least in the media and on here)

I agree, I think our defense is fine where it is, just growing pains. Just interesting to note that our offense is so absurd that even a 3.33 gpg is considered underachieving.

  2. I like Timo on the right, and Bratt back with Nico. I’m not usually one to pile on Smith, but I’d like Miller to get a shot soon.

I like this shake up a lot. Hughes will blend real nice with Timo and Toffoli and that second line is filthy

  4. Seeing the top 3 lines, I am convinced lindy checks this sub.

  5. I’m going to convince myself I willed this to happen

Tierney – Lazar – Bastian is…less than ideal. Our forward depth sure got tested quickly.

Sometimes I think the front office has people that lurk here and don’t see really obvious changes they should make until its posted in a fit of rage at 1am by some rando.

Like, I’m pretty confident that after I go on a rant about how stupid putting Hughes and Smith together is for his development(akin to putting Ty with the Husk of Subban) suddenly the next game he’ll be paired with Bahl and they’ll be great.

    Merer-McLeod-Holtz…this might work

But 3 righties on a line should be interesting

Timo on the RW is good but I am concerned about bottom 6 production

  10. Glad Timo to RW finally happened. Playing on a wing you’re not used to isn’t for everyone and some players never acclimate. I was one of the players who never acclimated during my playing days when I was forced to go RW as a right hander. It makes breakouts more difficult and you occasionally get handcuffed when the D throws the puck up the boards. Takes a split second longer when you need to field it on your backhand and that time can be the difference of getting stripped and the other team maintaining possession in the ozone. Offensive zone it doesn’t matter as much, but it still kind of messed me up. I really think Timo will benefit from this switch

Jack such a unique talent. Might be the move to get anyone that goes through a slump paired with him. Guy is so creative .
Defense , just need to play smart and not cute.
Overall, cmon on Friday! Let’s Go Devils

  12. Nico and Meier work well in the international game as it’s less physical and faster. It’s an entirely different game. That chemistry from the Swiss team hasn’t been shown at all since coming here.

Hughes and Meier work better in the NHL style of play. What’s been keeping Hughes and Meier apart is that Hughes isn’t Swiss, and there were some highs and lows last year between the two (learning each other). Let them play together for a bit.

  13. I dont mind the line blender, we gotta see what works. Just hoping Holtz can play his way to stay in the NHL.
