Corey Perry is a Stanley Cup champion, a multiple-time Olympic Gold medalist, a Hart trophy winner, a Rocket Richard winner, and a multiple-time All-star.
Ryan Reaves is none of those things.
I never thought I would find myself arguing in Corey Perry’s favor, but I love this guy now.

I’d be lying if I said I felt anything other than animosity for Perry before this year. But Reaves is a shitty scrub.
Perry had basically the same points in through his first 3 seasons as Reaves has had his entire career.
Reaves has 59 career goals through the end of last year. Perry had one season where scored 50.
Is he a pest, a rat? Absolutely. But dude has been top tier talent throughout his illustrious career. Unlike the skating liability that is Reaves, who has only managed a positive +/- 5 out of his 14 seasons.

I still feel greasy about Perry wearing the Indian head lol, like when Carcillo was a hawk.
But he’s doing what he was brought in here to do, inspire/mentor the kids and keep them protected.
