Great 2nd and 3rd period. But not starting on time and the last minute goals screwed us last year and it screwed us this game. Only 4 games but I do not like kliengberg. Sammy was solid and kept us in the game. October is always a bad month so it's most likely the same this season

I thought there was supposed to be more 'snot' on this roster with some of the new aquisitions. Not much snot in the 1st. Poor decision on a blind back-hand clear attempt by Klingberg that just made the shot & ensuing goal way too easy. Coughing up a goal with less than 10 seconds left in the 1st by the Matthews line simply inexcusable, with Bertuzzi making a half-assed attempt to block the goal producing point shot. That was the game when you can't finish your ample chances in the 2nd & 3rd. This reminds me of the 4-4-2 start of last year. Annoying.

Brad Treliving sheldon keefe. The leafs need to improve puck posession control share, move puck quicker, laterally and horizontally, players must act instinctively, no hesitation. The leafs forecheck pressure is NON EXISTENT, every leaf needs RELENTLESS INTENTIONAL FORECHECK PRESSURE MENTALITY THIS IS WHAT WINS A STANLEY CUP JUST LOOK AT THE VEGAS KNIGHTS THEY ARE THE STRONGEST RIGHT NOW. the leafs MUST GET THE PUCK OUT OF THEIR ZONE MUCH, MUCH QUICKER, THEY ARE TAKING TOO MUCH TIME GETTING THE PUCK OUT OF THEIR ZONE.
A negative attitude has never accomplished anything positive. I'm always happy to see Mitch and Ilya, W or L, because they make sure to acknowledge the effort made by their team. If you want people to perform well, you need to be willing to support them and build them up, instead of breaking them down. I beleaf. ๐๐ค

The effort level needs to increase significantly.
Whereโs that snot? Some good play in second & third, but they are too soft on the opposition. Show us some damned โin yur face hockeyโ, show us this so-called snot. Start running the defence over on the forecheck, shoulder them off the puck now and again.
The Leafs will figure this out, not to worry. Anyway it was a great 2nd and 3rd period. Sammy was good and kept the leafs in the game.
