I like that they tried it, but he hasn’t been good, and that line needs to be much better. I gotta say it’s refreshing to have an active GM who sees the same problems we do and acts quickly to address them.

The comment from Jets fans ended up being pretty accurate, he has a nice motor but he doesn’t have the hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He has a nice shot, good skating and plays a physical style, but he just doesn’t know where to go in the NHL to have success.
He’s actually in a similar boat to O’Connor with that, good tools but no toolbox.
Nothing of value is lost. They have a million dudes that are fringe players in the AHL right now. Zohorna, Hinostrosza, Johnsson, Puustinen, and Poulin. Give one of them a shot to see if they can actually be a functioning player. You can’t waste time being loyal to dead weight.
Insert Zohorna and Hinostroza into the lineup and this roster would be MUCH better for it.
Edit: Also, how freaking TOXIC of Dubas to do this. It’s only 4 games into the season 🤪
Good. Sucks for him and I know he’s not entirely to blame, but that third line felt kinda solid in the preseason and has been tanking ever since he joined it.
I have no issue with the Pens using their depth and trying different players and combinations that we have in WBS. No point just sticking with it.
It was worth a shot, to see if he had anything. But he just hasn’t done much to warrant staying in the lineup. See if Johnsson / Gruden / Nylander / Puustinen / Hinostroza / White /Zohorna will do any better. That’s what all those guys are there for.
And get Ludvig in the lineup for POJ or Ruhwedel while you’re at it.

I love that Dubas is breading competition. With this move, it puts people on notice. You either play good or we will get someone else who will. I saw something during the preseason that someone was talking about how Dubas told one of the depth guys he was trying to sign that there are opportunities here for people but every opportunity has to be earned. Hopefully this lights a fire under some of the younger guys and depth players to play there ass off for a spot on the team.
I have a feeling a lot of our younger guys felt like they had no shot getting to the big club when Hextall was here but now it seems that anybody that shows they can hang will actually get a shot.

Through the first 4 games last year our bottom 6 had 12 points. This year they have 1. Can we stop sucking Dubas dick on here for no reason? This bottom 6 is bottom 3 in the league.
