I feel like Petey is going to surprise a lot of people who have been sleeping on him till now. The fact that his progression has only been improving regardless of who he plays with makes me only imagine how insane he's going to be if we find more effective supporting pieces. His IQ seems to have no ceiling at this point. I really hope we can lock up his contract this season so we can witness it first hand. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
A few months before this draft and I am not sure if it was Hockey News, but had a article saying he might be the best player in the draft. Right away I went and looked for high lights. And I was really surprised at how good he was. Mixed feeling because he was 158 pounds 6 feet or six foot one. Also I knew Vancouver was fairly soft then. I was thinking who is going to protect him. And a big question of whether he can take the physicality of the NHL game. Stole a line from Captain America when he was drafted. I said get that kid a sandwich, Joking I said when he turned sideways he near dissappeared. I was thinking of Geddy Lee from Rush. He battled and looked like a star his first game. He has been amazing. And where is his or Hughes 's ceiling. I hope his price is reasonable for a Super Star Player.
Let's hope he leaves at the end of the season.
He has improved yet again this season, being on pace to score 82 goals and 246 points, right? :p Seriously though, the guy's hockey IQ is just off the charts! If he can stay healthy, I think he will consistently score 40+ goals and have 110+ points for another six to eight years… he is banking on himself for another big season so he will get the max dollar value, so I don't even know how can the Canucks be able to keep him?
