  1. McDavidโ€™s legs are looking a little weak.

Any trips to Austin lately, Connor?

  2. These line combinations are garbage. How many games do we need to see Kane struggling before he is moved out of the top 6? Why hasn't Holloway been given an opportunity in the top 6?

  3. Hard work & tenacity capitalized on simple mistakes made by talented players. Oil standard of work ethic is not a high enough bar. Way too many coverage mistakes, penalties & turnovers.

  4. tricky; he doesn't want to fully criticize himself… or the players…. or the GM or the Pres that has a cushy job/pay (Nicholson) that employs all the GM's… that don't seem to really put fwd the effort to assess and get the personnel needed. All mgt seems to be in a rather lay mode – to just ride McD as a 'cash cow'… but ultimately grind the org into the ground?
That said; seems Foeg at $3mil could skate to make sure he is 1st to puck on 1st goal…. vs stop… that Bouch could keep head in game vs 2 muffs again to cause 2 goals against, that Campb maybe could have stopped that basic shot on the short-handed, that Kane may know to go to a hi danger scoring position so McD could pass to him – vs skate right into him to compete w him for the lose puck & maybe cause injury to him… and Kulak… They can be better…

  5. Itโ€™s October, this is normal. Everything will be good in the end.

  6. Imagine the talent Tortorella would extract from this team….. accountability would shoot thru the roof~ good grief.

  7. STOP CHANGING THE LINES!!!! Keep the chemistry solid. Jay is losing it. You can't keep talking crap about our game, our effort, our standard. Call it what it is. Name the players specifically who didn't perform. Some peer pressure and negative press will either force them to play to their standard or leave. You guys are getting paid a REDICULOUS amount of money to play hockey so you better start playing better!!! Or get off the Fing ICE!!!

  8. Another defeat of Woodcroft, not the team. In the first period, everyone was great, they tried and played well. But then Woodcraft starts mixing players in links again and it breaks the game. The team collapsed before our eyes and everything stopped working out. He again feverishly puts some players with others trying to do something, and does not understand that they are not played. This is the way to nowhere. The coach must correct the actions of the players in the link! And not to throw them into other links! He should look at the link's game and adjust their actions with each other leading them to maximum efficiency! He does not understand this and tries to just change them hoping to see a miracle. There will be no miracle, they just know how to skate, hit the puck and that's it. The magic of teamwork is obtained ONLY if people play together for a lot of time and are constantly analyzed and adjusted. Despite the defeats, the links cannot be touched!!! They need to be played!!! I have a feeling that this person does not understand the level of hockey in the NHL at all. He managed to turn the Oilers into a yard team of unfamiliar guys who were going to drive the puck on the weekend. What should I do with the team so that Mcdevid doesn't look like himself??? For the first time I can say that Mcdevid played at 10% of his capabilities and he is clearly in no mood. The players look confused and do not understand why they are put in one link or another, nothing just happens on the ice. How many times has Woodcroft watched this game on TV broadcast? I think not, but there you can see all his mistakes and the mediocre game of the team. And now the sweetest thing for fans of writing is Woodcroft is a great coach. Last season, your Woodcroft rolled ONLY on the game of ONE great player, without Mcdevid's goals and his assists, the team would have taken the bottom of the standings last season without any chance of a playoff. This season, Mcdevid does not look like himself yet, and if he does not drag the team, then all you will see from the result of Woodcroft's work is the bottom of the standings with a bunch of defeats. Because at the time of the third season at the helm of the team, he could not collect a SINGLE dangerous, scoring link, and rolled only on the motivation and talent of Mcdevid, who solved a bunch of matches last year. Just take away Connor's goals and assists and see where the Oilers will be last season, you'll be surprised. This is a complete failure of the coach, this is incompetent leadership of the team. He can't help but inspire them, nor correct them, nor play a single link that would score!!!The club's management should pay attention to this, this person will continue to break the team with his non-professional decisions, you will never see anything with this coach. He proves it in every new game. All he knows how to do is grind his tongue at press conferences. You need to be able to do it on ice. You have to be completely incompetent in sports not to understand that people should play in the same link and find new and deep solutions for interesting interaction with each other, and not throw people into different fives in each game…Everyone to whom the Oilers lost showed that they are a team. Philadelphia was without stars!!! But they were a team playing according to a clear pattern, and they destroyed the Oilers. Until this coach realizes that even if we lose – THE PLAYERS MUST STAY IN THE SAME LINK – there will be no team! There will be a crowd of confused players on the ice, who do not know how to make a combination game, who do not feel each other. If they play in permanent links and if they work with each link, adjust them, analyze them, look for combinations, then progress will come and the team will APPEAR. People will be calmer and more confident. Connor will find motivation and won't look tired. Anyone would be tired of this nonsense. I don't understand why there are no specialists in Canada who can't see how Woodcroft destroys the team and can't do anything. Even here I have described the team's development strategy, someone should already see what is happening with the Oilers.

  9. He is still Headcoach? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚… Dumb decision.

  10. I dont want to make excuses for the Oil…..but I will make an excuse for the team……Bettman and the NHL doesnt seem to care how much air travel is involved for Canadian teams. I've done a lot of air travel…..I dont care what any one says….it could take up to 48 hours to get climatized. And now the team has to fly across two time-zones and play a home game Saturday night. It seems like the NHL will do any thing it can to ENGINEER Canadian teams behind the 8-ball. Just like that dumb Pieterangelo/Nurse suspension last spring. This travel thing is on the NHL and Bettman…….other than that…..the Oil do have to work harder.

  11. The Oilers have had a life time of playing subpar for no good reason in games. For what ever reason, they have a hard time being consistent. All of the forward skill and sometimes they look like they slept in and are trying to wake up. All of the losses this year have the same receipt, get out played, out passed, out skated, lose the puck, seem unorganized. looked lost on the ice, even 97 looked like shite last night. Zone only works if the team buys in. This doesn't look like a team that has bought in to anything. Power Play, shite. 5V5 shite. Soupy look fairly good, I'd say 1 goal was on him. Others were horrible coverage. Saw the goal going from miles away. Bouch was hot garbage yesterday, Horrible. He gets benched next game if I'm coaching.

  12. Here is the problemโ€ฆโ€ฆwe pass when we should shoot, we shoot when we should pass, we love endless passing of the puck, and no one except Hyman and Foggle drive the net.
